Christine Agnew and Shauna Ritchie prosecuted Ozdil Investments Ltd and two of its directors on charges arising out of the death of Nickolai Valkov in April 2015. Mr Valkov fell to his death while working at the Company’s Harlow warehouse. The Defendants were convicted Corporate Manslaughter and Health and Safety Offences following a four week trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
The Company, Ozdil Investments Ltd, was charged and convicted of Corporate Manslaughter and breaching its duties under s.3 of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. Two of its directors, Firat Ozdil and Ozgur Ozdil, were convicted of Health & Safety Offences arising from their duties as directors.
The contractor for the works who employed Mr Valkov, Koseoglu Metal Works Ltd, and its Director Kadir Kose, had pleaded Guilty the same offences at an earlier hearing.
All defendants are to be sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on 17th March 2017.
