Nick Bonehill’s client aquitted of rape, multiple sexual assaults, ABH and criminal damage

Nick Bonehill, instructed by Emma Grewock of Paul Robinsons solicitors, successfully represented a client at Basildon Crown Court facing allegations of rape, multiple offences of sexual assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage.  

All of the charges were alleged to have arisen in the context of domestic abuse.

The Crown alleged that Nick’s client had subjected the complaint, his former partner, to a campaign of sexual, verbal and violent abuse over a 9-month period.  In the week prior to the trial, the prosecution served approximately 36,000 WhatsApp messages between the couple. 

Despite the late service of the evidence, after an 8-day trial, Nick secured not guilty verdicts on these serious allegations.
