Before qualifying as a Solicitor in 1998, Michael Williams held commissions in the Royal Hong Kong Police (as it then was), the Royal Australian Air Force Police and the British Army Intelligence Corps (TA).
Michael has practised as a Senior Crown Prosecutor and Revenue and Customs Prosecutor in England, as Crown Counsel in Queensland, and as In-house Counsel with the General Medical Council.
Michael holds statutory appointments as a Legal Assessor to Panels and Committees of the General Medical Council and Teaching Agency. He chairs the Appeal Committee of the Chartered Insurance Institute; is a member and Panel Chair of the Disciplinary Committees of the Academy of Experts and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy; and also sits as an independent member of the West Midlands, West Mercia, Staffordshire and Warwickshire Police Misconduct Panels.
Michael has lectured extensively to both academic and professional audiences, regularly provides training to expert witnesses, professional regulatory bodies and police organisations both in the UK and overseas.
