Ashraf Khan recently represented the General Dental Council in its case against a Registrant and Director of a dental practice charged with misconduct.
It was alleged the Registrant practised without indemnity as required under section 36L of the Dentist Act 1984 and dishonestly attempted to mislead the GDC’s investigation when required to provide evidence of cover, pursuant to General Dental Council (Indemnity Arrangements) (Dentists and Dental Care Professionals) Rules Order of Council 2015. At the conclusion of the hearing, the Fitness to Practise Committee found the allegations proved and ordered the Registrant to be immediately suspended, only to be allowed back into practice after a full review by a future Fitness to Practise Committee.
Ashraf was instructed by Holly Watt and Yinny Granger of the General Dental Council’s In-House Legal Presentation Services.
