We are delighted to announce that Ashraf Khan has been appointed as a Legally Qualified Chair of the Architects Registration Board’s Professional Conduct Committee.
The Professional Conduct Committee, constituted under the Architects Act 1997, hears allegations of unacceptable professional conduct and serious professional incompetence against architects and has the power to impose a range of sanctions, from reprimand through to suspension or erasure from the Register.
In this role, Ashraf will sit with architect and lay members of the Committee, ensuring that hearings are conducted with fairness, efficiency, and transparency, and that decisions safeguard the public, uphold standards, and maintain confidence in the profession.
This appointment reflects Ashraf’s extensive experience in professional discipline and regulatory law across healthcare, accountancy, policing, and sport. He regularly sits as a Legal Adviser for other regulators, while maintaining a busy practice as a barrister specialising in professional discipline, inquests, and serious crime.
This new role further strengthens Ashraf’s growing portfolio of appointments and underlines his reputation as an accomplished advocate and trusted decision-maker in complex and sensitive cases.
