The case arose from a joint investigation by the City of London police and the National Crime Agency into daily large deposits of cash into more than 50 different post offices in London and Greater London. Over a 3 month period £6.2m of cash had been transferred into different accounts and out of the jurisdiction. The defence advanced was one of modern slavery by an alleged cash courier. Following a 9 day trial, the defendant was unanimously acquitted of all alleged offences by a Jury at Southwark Crown Court. Ashley was instructed by Ola Amosu of Amosu Robinshaw Solicitors.
