Anand Beharrylal KC acts for 15 year old in Solihull murder

Anand Beharrylal KC instructed by Bailey Garcha Solicitors (Birmingham) leading Iain Suggett represented a 15 year old in a high profile murder at Birmingham Crown Court. 

The prosecution case was based on joint enterprise in pursuing and stabbing the deceased. At sentencing whilst the teenager acted jointly with the main defendants, it was accepted that the evidence did not show him stabbing the deceased and that he may not have.

Anand also successfully resisted an application for an excepting direction to protect the teenager’s identity. The teenager was sentenced to detention at His Majesty’s pleasure with a minimum term of 15 years.
