1. What is the Public File?

Each local commercial radio station in the UK has requirements in respect of its music and local content, such as news etc. These requirements are set out in the station "Format", a document issued by Ofcom, the UK media regulator.

The Public File contains details of elements Ofcom regulate over, such as music tracks, local news etc. It is intended to give you a better understanding of our output and what we are doing for the community we serve.

The Public File is available as a print out on request. Any comments on the file can be made to us or Ofcom.

6. Automation and Local Programming

Sometimes it is necessary to pre-record (sometimes called Automation) programmes on the station. Currently we only automate maximum 5 hours during the weekday day times.

None of our programmes are networked from off site, all being produced locally.

We do not share any programming with our co-located radio station, although do share news resources.

7. Events and Charities we support

We work closely with local charities such as Pendleside Hospice, the Rotary Club of Burnley and Pendleside and Macmillan Cancer Support, Blackburn Lions, East Lancashire Hospice and St. Catherine's Hospice.

8. Coverage Highlights

Every year we recognise people in our community who change peoples lives for the better with our Local Hero Awards. There are awards for fund raisers, volunteers, young people, carers and family members.  We also appear at selected high profile events such as Burnley's Christmas Light Switch On, Blackburn Christmas Light's Switch on and Leyland Bonfire to name but a few.  Check out our gallery for more examples.

On air we pride ourselves in locally relevant content for Lancashire - local travel, weather, news and sport alongside great music and entertainment.
