Mary White is a natural born psychic medium who discovered her ability to communicate with the spirit world when she was a child.
As she got older she realised her mediumship had to be developed and used in a disciplined manner. So, after 20 years of working in a car factory in her home town of Burnley, she decided to change direction and pursue her calling.
Mary has now been working full time as a professional psychic medium for the last 10 years.
She carries out private readings, conducts services at spiritualist churches throughout the North West and performs public demonstrations of clairvoyance in local theatres.
Mary says: "People come to me for many different reasons - to prove me wrong; to try to understand my ability; to contact loved ones; to find out what is happening in their lives and to get guidance from the spirit world. So I have to work with my spirit guides to channel and receive and pass on information to the client, giving them guidance it their choice if they wish to follow the advice and each reading is for the individual."
She also works as a paranormal investigator with teams from Beyond the Dark and Pathfinder.
They use electronic equipment and other means to look for evidence, while Mary uses her medium abilities in a bid to contact the dead.
She has visited various sights, landmarks and buildings throughout England to discover their history and any spooky goings-on.
During her investigations, she has come across evil animals, lost children trapped between this life and the next, young women who have killed themselves for love and numerous murderers, including a mad doctor who butchered people for fun!
Mary was the runner-up in Channel 5's "Britain's Psychic Challenge". She was one of 12 competitors chosen from hundreds to appear on the TV show and take part in various tests of her psychic and mediumistic abilities during the eight week series.
